Patient Review
Dr. Andrew Steinkeler recently removed my teen daughter's four wisdom teeth. While this is not a pleasant procedure, our experience with Dr. Steinkeler could not have been better. I initially took my daughter to visit Dr. Steinkeler due to symptoms of TMJ. Prior to the consultation, I viewed his professional bio on the office website. His credentials are impeccable! And, he had a wonderful manner during both of our visits to the office. He was so friendly and personable, and really allayed my daughter's fears about post-operative pain and how it would be managed. Following the surgery, I needed to call him regarding a pain medication question. The answering service picked up, and he called me back immediately. Again, very friendly and not bothered that I was intruding on his day off. I have been seeing a dentist in New York for years due to a complicated dental history of my own. Now, I will gladly see Dr. Steinkeler next time the need arises. We are so lucky to have a dentist of his caliber in Bucks County. I think he's the Elvis of dentists! Thank you, Dr. Steinkeler, for taking such great care of my daughter. The office staff and nurses were also very professional and friendly. It was a great experience overall.

Seen by Dr.Andrew for extraction on 7/18 . Had xrays which found a retained impacted wisdom tooth. Said this needed to be removed. When I contacted my dental insurance to see if service would be covered there was no note regarding this. Made another appointment for 8/22/for consult to have predetermination submitted to the DENTAL insurance and the office insisted that this claim had to be submitted to my MEDICAL insurance carrier.I was charged for copay for MEDICAL insurance - this claim was to be submitted to DENTAL carrier for predetermination only. This office double dipping and billing both insurance companies for the same service. The appointment for today was for determination of DENTAL coverage of tooth #32 and should never have involved MEDICAL insurance.Because there was no written"plan" for the extraction of #32 on 7/18 this forced additional charge for consult on 8/22. Don't expect that your service will be covered according to your dental plan. This office is shrewd and all copays must be paid at the time of service. They know all the ways to get the most $$$ from you. Don't give them your medical insurance information or you will find that you are double charged any fees they can find.

Front staff is very nasty First trying to collect my copay on my primary insurance rather than submitting everything to my primary and secondary insurance and billing me. The consult was medical and not dental so it should be covered. I rarely pay anything Then they fought with me over collecting 20% of the charge for an x ray (yes, they collected it from me!) which is covered by my dental insurance every three years WHY BOTHER CHECKING WITH THEM? I'm loaded. Cash oozes out of every orifice. Oh and to top it off they want to extract my impacted wisdom tooth while I am awake using Novocaine only! Got a wooden dowel I can bite on?? From their website-" It is your responsibility to know your insurance coverage and benefits. Please verify your coverage with your insurance carrier prior to any procedure or surgery. All co–pays and deductibles are to be paid at the time of your surgery. The Federal Government and the Office of Inspector General has ruled that the waiver (non–collection) of patients financial liability (Co–payments and deductibles) as determined by a patient’s insurance company is considered insurance fraud. Physicians who have signed contracts with any insurance company are legally obligated by law to collect your co–payment and/or deductible as stated by your insurance company. Your insurance company considers your out–of–pocket expense an important element of your insurance coverage design. It is intended by your insurance company and employer, to keep you mindful of the true nature of your health care costs by having you share in the costs by paying your co–payment, deductibles and/or coinsurance. Waiving a member’s (patient’s) deductible, co–payment, and coinsurance amount is misrepresenting the actual charges for the services provided and therefore it is considered fraud by federal statute." Really? Isn't it theft to collect 20% of the fee for an X-ray before submitting the charge to my dental insurance? or co-pays before insurance submission? When my insurer pays you (as a member of my dental plan you need to accept the payment as full) please reimburse me for your illegal collection of my funds for the x ray. Fraud by federal statute One last thing Please direct your office staff to the following post from your own website- "Do you accept Medicare? We do participate with Medicare. Medicare does not cover dental procedures. Medicare covers only certain medical procedures. Medicare does not cover general anesthesia in conjunction with these medical procedures. You will be asked to read and sign a Medicare Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) if you request that we submit a claim to Medicare on your behalf for these services. The ABN form serves notice to you that some services may not be covered by Medicare and you will be responsible for the fees" They seem quite confused about what type of insurance your office accepts and as so are demanding co pays in violation of federal statutes!!! If you call and they cannot get to the phone they also advise you to leave a message and have your insurance information ready when they return your call!!! LOL.

Dr Schelkun knows his stuff, and is a straight shooter! After visiting my primary dentist, my doctor, a plastic surgeon, and then back to my dentist, I was finally referred to his office. Five minutes in the chair, and Doc knew what he was looking at. It seems a non-painful abscessed tooth in my jaw had managed to works its way to my skin as opposed to pushing on a nerve. Thanks for the great job! I'll be back!

Dr. Steinkeler,
I was in yesterday for a tooth extraction. I just wanted to say thank you. You were kind to me, as a person, not just professional as to a patient. I was much more anxious than I appeared and you made it easier and was very comforting. Also, the nurse Jimmy who got me settled, and the rest of your staff.
Gratefully,
Geri

Dr. Steinkeler,
Happy 2020! I have entered the new year smiling ear to ear thanks to you and your team! You truly changed my life and I’ve never felt better. It’s crazy how long this journey has been, but I am incredibly thankful that we found your practice. I don’t think my family and I would have been treated with such professional care anywhere else. Thank you so much for all of your and Joanne’s help in regards to the insurance and for putting in as much time and effort as you did to help me get the procedure I have waited so long for. I hope you, your family, and your team had a wonderful holiday season! Thank you so much again for everything you’ve done for us!
Best wishes,
Brooke

Dear Dr. Kienle,
Thank you so much for helping me and fixing/healing my jaw. When I first sat in your office I cried because of the news of wiring my jaw shut, but now I look back and really appreciate your help and decision on doing this. I appreciate you and your staff taking the time to work with me and making me feel comfortable and at ease. Again thank you for all that you have done for me!

Good morning,
I just wanted to extend a thank you – you were all wonderful and I truly appreciate all of your efforts to make my tooth extraction as painless and stress free as possible. I was extremely anxious about this and the whole team was fabulous. I’m very glad I was under your care for this, and while hopefully I don’t need any more in my lifetime, I’ll be sure to refer you all to anyone I know who needs any work done!

Dental Lifeline
Dr. Mark Kienle
And all the assistants who helped make this possible,Now that my much needed dental care has been completed, I wanted to take a moment to truly thank each and every one of you. Without your kindness, generosity and participation I simply do not know how this would have turned out. Because of you, I now live pain free and can afford to offer others a decent smile.
I simply cannot explain how much I appreciate all you’ve done to help me. You’ve no idea how Ive been humbled by this. Like so many others, Ive spent my entire life working hard, paying the bills and taking the responsibility to take care of myself. Unfortunately, all of that radically changed in 2009, and I, like so many others, lost almost everything which included a job and the resulting medical coverage that came with it. And just like that, it was all gone.
Your dedication to your craft, your kindness and your decision to play a part in this wonderful program at Dental Lifeline will not be forgotten by me any time soon.
Thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU,
David

Dear Dr. Kienle,
I just received a copy of your report from my visit regarding my TMJ problem, and I wanted to thank you for sending me a copy. I forgot to ask you for a copy and was planning to get one from one of the doctors you sent it to.
I was impressed by your clean and thorough description of what has transpired with my jaw over these last months, in addition to your grasp of my migraine history and how the injury has impacted that pre-existing condition. That discussion, coupled with your clinical findings and recommendations, will be most helpful to the various practitioners currently treating me.
Thanks again,
Karen

I want to thank you for helping me with my insurance dilemma. I cant say enough about the practice overall. You all operate at a very high standards and I really appreciate it!

A brief note of sincere appreciation for the outstanding performance by you and your staff in connection with my extraction performed on May 15, 2013.
As you probably noted, I have only half of the normal set of thirty-two teeth so I have had a total of sixteen extractions over the years of dental care by quite a number of different professionals.
As a result of your high level of competence, I had only a minor amount of blood seepage, absolutely no swelling and very low level of pain discomfort.
I am a retired industrial engineer and after many years of analyzing manufacturing activity to determine the best utilization of labor and material to obtain the most cost effective result; I salute you and your staff for the excellence that was portrayed during my two visits. Everyone knows what to do.
I dont expect to be in contact with a lot of people who would need your services but rest assured, I most certainly will recommend your practice as being the very best I have ever experienced.
We have thanked our dentist for her recommendation of your group when my need for oral surgery arose.
The fact that the crown of #32 had broken off as a result of serious decay caused me to have a bit of trepidation about the extraction process.
You did a great job and I sincerely appreciated it.
Best regards,
